Andrew Waites is coordinating the development of the communications systems in support of the Love Field Modernization Program (LFMP). He is responsible for designing and implementing the information technology systems and network services that are the backbone for communication and collaboration for the program. This system will support computer services for over 200 users, document controls, cost control, and monthly reporting. The LFMP technology strategy includes administration and development of the Love Field Modernization Windows SharePoint Services website. Andrew has created a multi-tiered security platform to provide program and project information from the contractor to owner level. This website incorporates information from many enterprise class construction systems including Prolog and Primavera.
In addition, as part of the program management team for The Love Field Modernization Program, Mr. Waites provides assistance and leadership in the design coordination process of the communications infrastructure for the new terminal/concourse complex.
Prior to AvAirPros, Mr. Waites served as a Customer Service Manager for Northwest Airlines at MSP. He implemented strike contingency plans for the AMFA mechanics strike in 2005. During football seasons he organized the ground handling of charters for the various NFL teams. He also provided a Lean Enterprise perspective to the operation.
While serving at Northwest Airlines, Mr. Waites was selected to participate on the Hub of the Future and Airport of the Future redesign teams where he worked with frontline employees, frontline management, and upper management to identify and develop several conceptual improvements. Several of the operational concepts were carried forward to design and implementation.
While pursuing both undergraduate and graduate degrees at Purdue University, Mr. Waites had the opportunity to work with Major Airlines in multiple cities. Work included consulting services for operational and safety improvement. As a student he was able to work with frontline employees in a non-confrontational role. This led to several process improvements that led to over half a million dollars in baggage theft at the Denver International Airport. This experience guided his education to learn how to implement lean process improvement techniques typically reserved for manufacturing environments and adapt them to the ever changing airline operations.
At Purdue University, Andrew designed a student employee management system. This system included scheduling, attendance, communication, and other records that have been in use since 2002. This program has been used by thousands of student workers and allows for a simplified management approach for large food service operations at Purdue University’s Dining Services.
Andrew Waites brings to AvAirPros a combination of airline operational experience, process improvement, and an aptitude for computer technology to the firm.
