Experience
Mr. Deir joined the staff of AvAirPros Services in 2002 and has over nine years of project and contract -management experience. His airline and project experience includes the new $42M Inline Explosive Detection System at Midway International Airport, coordination on the new North Security Hall expansion at Midway, receipt and commissioning of all airside equipment for the Midway Airport Terminal Development Program, and consortium management for all airlines operating at Midway including fuel and equipment billing and reconciliation accounting.Since November 2004, Mr. Deir has served as the Director of Operations for the Midway Airlines’ Terminal Consortium (MATCO), at Midway International Airport in Chicago. He is currently responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Consortium operation. He manages, on behalf of all member airlines, all common use equipment and systems, services, accounts payable, accounts receivable, client invoicing expenditures, and contract and cash management. Prior to being promoted to Director, Mr. Deir served as the maintenance manager for airside operations and equipment at Midway. During this time, he worked closely with all airlines and various vendors to receive, inspect, punch-list, and accept equipment and systems on behalf of the consortium. Equipment included 43 passenger-boarding bridges, each with preconditioned air and ground power units, a central preconditioned air heating and cooling plant, five 400 Hz central generating systems, 23 potable water cabinets, and a centralized triturator system. Mr. Deir was also instrumental in the receipt and commissioning of the baggage handling system, Federal Inspection Facilities and battery charging systems. All systems were handled from receipt through commissioning; including warranty fulfillment, initial inventory procurement, establishing and implementing a preventative maintenance program, and the creation of data management systems to manage inventories, maintenance and equipment histories. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Deir Served in the United States Navy where he maintained and repaired missile launching and related control systems aboard the pre-commissioned Destroyer, USS Ross. He received medals for National Defense, Good Conduct, and in 1998 was awarded the Naval Achievement Medal. Mr. Deir is also a veteran of Operation Nobel Anvil. Following his honorable discharge in 1999, he managed a $10 million sales and maintenance route in the downtown Chicago area for EcoLab. He began working at Midway Airport as a maintenance manager for Enron Building Systems, Inc. in 2001 before coming aboard with AvAirPros Services the following year. Through his experience in all of these fields, he picked up a broad range of knowledge in various trades including welding, electrical, plumbing, electronics, carpentry, systems automation and PLC logic. Mr. Deir graduated with his Master’s degree in Business Administration and Finance from Lewis University in Romeoville, IL in 2007. Mr. Deir has professional development certificates in both Project Management and Executive Leadership Development. Additionally, Mr. Deir has extensive military technical training, an EMT-B license from the state of Illinois and previously volunteered as a certified CPR instructor. He is knowledgeable in computer networking, Windows based software programs including Microsoft Office products, AutoCAD 2000, and Peachtree accounting software.
