Experience
Mr. Deir joined AvAirPros Services, Inc. in 2002 to oversee the installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance of various consolidated airline systems as well as the mobilization of various airline support services for the Midway Airlines’ Terminal Consortium (MATCO). In 2004, Mr. Deir was promoted to Director of Operations where he was responsible for directing a team of management professionals in meeting airline financial and operational goals and driving the organization’s continuous improvement program. Early in 2008, Mr. Deir was promoted to Deputy Director, bringing additional financial and planning responsibilities to his role at MATCO. In November 2008, Mr. Deir was promoted to Executive Director of MATCO and currently oversees all operational, financial, and legal aspects of the consortium on behalf of the MATCO Board of Directors.
With a Degree in Project Management and extensive experience managing projects of varying scope throughout the Midway Airport Terminal Development Program, Mr. Deir has developed a practical set of Project Management skills. Mr. Deir’s successful oversight of the installation and commissioning of airline support systems at Midway demonstrates his exceptional abilities as a project manager. Mr. Deir also has experience and strengths in terminal operations, GSE maintenance operations, strategic planning, financial models, budgeting, staff and team development, process improvement and various skilled trades.
Most recently, Mr. Deir was an integral member of the highly successful team assembled to design, install and operate the fully automated Inline Baggage Handling Explosive Detection System at Midway Airport. The $42.5M project, which exceeded industry standards, was completed in November 2007 and is currently operating at 100% per design. Previously,
Mr. Deir played a key role in coordinating the project management teams to install and commission the Baggage Handling System, Passenger Loading Bridges, and Centralized Ground Power / Pre-Conditioned Air Systems at Midway. Mr. Deir has also made significant contributions to both the design and construction of the Federal Inspection Facilities and North Security Expansion Hall at Midway Airport.
Prior to joining the AvAirPros Team, Mr. Deir worked for Enron Building Services, Inc. managing the baggage handling maintenance contract for Midway Airport. Until 1999, Mr. Deir proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy where he operated and maintained missile and ordinance systems aboard the guided missile destroyer, USS Ross.
In 2007 Mr. Deir graduated summa cum laude from Lewis University earning an MBA with a concentration in finance.
