Mr. Wilson joined AvAirPros Services, Inc. in 2002, and holds the position of Executive Director, Rental Car Services. Mr. Wilson brings to AvAirPros an extensive background in multi-location Car Rental Operations management, with over 26 years of experience in positions such as Vice President Operations, General Manager & City Manager.Mr. Wilson manages the Consolidated Rental Car Busing Operation and has management responsibilities for the Consolidated Rental Car Facility for the Oakland Rental Car Companies. In addition, he is responsible for resolving the financial aspects of the Consolidated Rental Car Shuttle Service for the rental car companies servicing customers at the San Francisco International Airport. Beginning in April 2002, Mr. Wilson drafted and sent out the RFP for the Consolidated Rental Car Bus Service for the Oakland Rental Car Companies, reviewed the proposal, developed spreadsheets to analyze the proposal, developed a scoring system for the Operating Committee to use in selection of the Bus Service Provider, worked with the members of the Busing Committee in drafting a Bus Service Contract, developed the bus scheduling module with times and bus capacities, prepared the Rental Car Facility’s operating budget, and coordinated the Rental Car Facility activities with the Port. Currently Mr. Wilson oversees the consolidated Rental Car Shuttle service, monitors the monthly invoices for charges expensed to the Rental Car Companies in compliance with the Bus Management Agreement, directs the operation of the consolidated Rental Car Facility, and manages the fund which pays for the Busing Service and Building Operations. Mr. Wilson served as the coordinator of the consolidated busing operation at the SFO RAC Center for the eight on-airport and seven off-airport car rental companies from 2000 until the AirTrain replaced the busing operation in March 2002. Prior to these positions, Mr. Wilson was General Manager of 16 Thrifty Car Rental Bay Area locations, including the SFO car rental and Airport parking operations. One of the main reasons he joined Thrifty Car Rental in 1997 was to coordinate their move to an on-airport car rental operation. Mr. Wilson also served on the common busing committee and was specifically involved in drafting the RFP, the selection process, contract preparation, and setting the Transportation Fee. Mr. Wilson served as Chairperson of the common busing operations committee from its inception in 1999. He created the Transportation Fee Trust Account and Building Maintenance Fund Account, in addition to developing the model to track all activities related to these accounts. Before joining Thrifty Car Rental in the Bay area, Mr. Wilson worked for Dollar Rent A Car as General Manager of Northern California and Chicago. Focus in the California region was on revenue growth, fleet control and integrating General Rent A Car into the Dollar Rent A Car operation. In Chicago, Mr. Wilson was responsible for moving the Dollar Rent A Car operation from off-airport to an on-airport location as well as overseeing car rental operations in Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky and Wisconsin. Previously, Mr. Wilson worked in car rental in Oregon, Seattle, Boston, Dallas, Albuquerque and El Paso. While in Dallas, as City Manager of National Car Rental, he also served as building manager for the two common buildings and common grounds from 1976 through 1983.
