Mr. Seijas is a registered architect and currently serves as the Senior Project Manager of Construction Services for Delta Air Lines’ capital improvement projects at Terminals 2 and 3 at JFK International Airport. His key focus is construction management oversight, construction logistics, and schedule development. His responsibilities extend from participation in preparation of design and bid documents, value engineering, to contractor bids analysis and negotiation of construction bids.During construction he manages construction teams for selected projects, reviews contractor requests for scope additions and assists with change order preparation. He also serves as the prime interface with Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ) Resident Engineers for onsite inspections and field issues.
Prior to joining AvAirPros, Mr. Seijas worked for Turner Construction. During Mr. Seijas’ tenure he served as the Purchasing Agent for JetBlue Terminal 5 Redevelopment, which comprised of the construction of a new twenty-six gate terminal at JFK Airport. Mr. Seijas was also part of the Construction Management team responsible for providing the preliminary evaluation of the Delta Air Lines Capital Improvements and Passenger Enhancement program. His pre-construction services included programming, conceptual thru final estimates of construction costs, scheduling, and logistics planning.
Mr. Seijas also worked for architectural and engineering consulting firms were he served as Project Architect for various types of transportation projects. He served as the architect for Continental Airlines cargo facility at JFK International Airport. Duties began with schematic design and extended through the completion of the construction. Involvement during the Construction Administration phase enabled the owner to have confidence in the project when issues arose. His full knowledge of the process and reasoning that yielded the design enabled the project to be completed on time despite a delay in construction involving changing of construction administration.
Mr. Seijas also provided project management for the design and deployment of aviation security at New York and New Jersey’s three major airports. Working with PANYNJ he provided all of the resources necessary to manage the delivery of the project, the development of project proposals and plans, schedules, scope of work, including progress reports and budgetary tracking.
Mr. Seijas’ other notable projects within the transportation field includes Newark Liberty International Airport Vertical Circulation Improvement at Terminal B and AirTrain including the Northeast Corridor connection, and New Jersey Transit - Hudson-Bergen Light Rail Transit System DBOM.
With over twelve years experience as an architect in space planning, building rehabilitation, renovations and inspections for industrial, commercial and government clients, along with his construction management experiences, Mr. Seijas would be considered a well rounded member of any program.
