Experience Mr. Oates joined AvAirPros Services in 2008 and is the Director of Operations for Skyline Management Group (SMG), a joint venture operation providing professional property management services at Midway International Airport on behalf of the City of Chicago. His duties include the management of all mechanical, electrical, custodial and support staff for all base building systems.
Mr. Oates specializes in preventive and predictive maintenance program development, implementation and administration. He has over 25 years of experience in the operations’ and maintenance industry and has been involved in multiple projects of varying size. His strengths include the ability to plan operations’ activities strategically to ensure that all economies-of-scale are realized. He also has managed numerous projects for a variety of clients with a focus on scope, schedule, and cost. He combines all his years of experience into one primary focus, which is customer service. He understands the importance of exceeding expectations and maintaining strong relationships with clients at all levels.
At Chicago’s Midway International Airport, Mr. Oates oversees the day-to-day operations of all base buildings. He recently completed a top down review of the existing preventive maintenance program and is currently leading a project to update the program to a web version. He also manages various projects for the Department of Aviation and the Transportation Security Administration.
Prior to joining AvAirPros Services, Mr. Oates was a regional manager for American Building Maintenance Services. In this role, he was involved with numerous clients across a five-state region and managed the operations and maintenance services for properties ranging from 100,000 to 2,000,000 square feet. The properties included new construction as well as landmark status buildings. In the course of his career, he has maintained a reputation of integrity, industry knowledge, and strong customer service skills.
