Experience

Mr. Natarajan has strong aviation experience in business and financial analysis as well as managing and maximizing non-airline revenue streams.

Mr. Natarajan currently assists airlines with the analysis and negotiations of lease and operating agreements, rates and charges, and other business deals. He manages rates models and works with airline clients to assess airport proposals. He uses his extensive and varied financial and analytical background to bring rigorous and creative solutions to airline business issues. Mr. Natarajan also provides strategic business direction to airport clients in the areas of concessions, non-airline operations, strategic planning and program management. He provides financial, analytical and negotiation support to airport, airline and non-airline businesses including concessions and rental cars.

Mr. Natarajan has recently provided financial and analytical support for lease negotiations in Anchorage and Fairbanks. He also provided general analytical support for airline issues in Seattle, and is the Airline Liaison Officer at Denver International Airport. Mr. Natarajan oversaw the development and management of the concession program for Delta Air Lines at JFK Terminals 2 and 3 and at both Delta Terminals at LaGuardia.

Prior to joining AvAirPros, he was the General Manager of Business Development at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. He oversaw the Concessions, Properties, Acquisitions, Business Development and Utilities Departments with a focus on increasing non-airline revenues and managing the airport’s cost per enplanement. He was responsible for the business and financial aspects of all non-airline revenues including concessions, rental cars, parking, land development, and properties. His departments managed all the leases for airline and non-airline tenants as well as the rates and charges models for airline space.

With extensive experience in financial and business analysis, as well as analytical modeling, Mr. Natarajan has used econometrics, economic analysis, statistics, and computer modeling as problem analysis tools and is familiar with computer based project appraisal including risk analysis and economic analysis. He has evaluated numerous airport projects for financial viability and has analyzed business proposals and capital decisions. His experience includes working on airport projects as well as utility projects and natural resource rate models.

Mr. Natarajan managed the rebuilding of the concessions program at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport; moving from a system with one master concessionaire to multiple primes and independents, including negotiating concessions contracts in excess of $100 million in sales per year. He has overseen the implementation of new concession spaces in both existing and new facilities. He has overseen the lease management for both airline and non-airline tenants as well as off-airport businesses including several business parks, rental car contracts, and a hotel.

Mr. Natarajan’s extensive experience with all levels of financial and business analysis, from working with spreadsheets to working with airport directors and senior level tenants, enables him to understand the needs of clients, evaluate and analyze options, and then strategically implement preferred solutions.
