Lou Salomon leads AvAirPros’ Program Development practice area which includes program coordination and project management assignments throughout North America, with overall responsibility for personnel and performance of this practice area.

Mr. Salomon currently serves as the Officer-in-Charge for AvAirPros’ activities on the Dallas Love Field Modernization Program. This $519 million terminal area development project will renovate and replace existing facilities with a new 20-gate facility.

Other current or recent assignments include serving as the Airline Liaison Office (ALO) for the Wayne County Airport Authority on the $443 million North Terminal Redevelopment project at Detroit Metro International Airport. This $443 million program, opened in September 2008 included a new terminal, a twenty-six gate concourse, a federal inspection services facility, airside/landside improvements, and an Airline Consolidated Tenant Improvement project. Other current assignments also include the Southwest Airlines Gate Enhancement program and the Concourse E Hammerhead Expansion in Philadelphia.

As a key member of the Airline Master Plan Team at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, Mr. Salomon provided programming, planning, and design guidance related to various landside, terminal, and concourse components of the current $6.7 billion Capital Improvement Program. Components included terminal and concourse renovations, new international terminal, new runway, and various roadway and airfield improvements.

Mr. Salomon also provided programming, planning, design and technical support throughout the life of the multi-phased $900 million Chicago Midway Airport Terminal Development Program completed in 2004. AvAirPros was also responsible for coordinating base building requirements, managing the design, procurement, and implementation of various airline systems (baggage handling systems, pre-conditioned air, ground power, flight information displays, passenger loading bridges, potable water cabinets), and airline tenant improvements.
Mr. Salomon has provided consulting services at Baltimore-Washington, Fort Myers, JFK Terminal One, Kansas City, Miami, O’Hare, Orlando, Philadelphia, San Francisco, the State of Hawaii Airport System, T.F. Green, and Vancouver airports. Domestic and international airlines are among his clients.

Prior to joining AvAirPros, Mr. Salomon served as Senior Project Manager for American Airlines at O’Hare International Airport with responsibility for over $400 million in projects. Projects included concourse expansions, terminal and concourse renovations, hangar renovations, operational support facilities, GSE maintenance building, technical training school, an Admiral’s Club expansion & renovation, and active engagement in various major City of Chicago capital programs, including International Terminal 5.

Mr. Salomon's understanding of customer service and airline/airport operational issues, combined with his experience working among program managers, architectural consultants, contractors, and airport regulatory agencies, provides a unique perspective into the airport development process.
