Experience Mitchell Hamic joined AvAirPros following twenty-seven years of aviation experience. Since joining AvAirPros, principal responsibilities have included managing airline tenant improvement projects and providing technical support relative to new terminal projects. Mr. Hamic is currently managing multiple sub-projects related to the Wayne County Airport Authority’s new twenty-six gate North Terminal Redevelopment Project at Detroit Metro Airport. These sub-projects have included the Consolidated Tenant Improvement Project (a 55,000 sq. ft. effort serving eight signatory airlines, as well as common-use and WCAA requirements), a new airline club room fit-up for Lufthansa German Airlines (5,000 sq. ft.), the renovation of a triturator facility, and the development of a GSE fuel storage & dispensing facility. Mr. Hamic has also played a lead role in consolidated tenant improvements for the new forty-one gate Indianapolis Midfield Terminal Project, managed holdroom remodeling efforts at multiple airports for a domestic carrier, and managed an apron realignment project for a global carrier. Prior to joining AvAirPros, Mr. Hamic was employed for ten years with ATA Airlines, Inc., where he ultimately served as Director, Properties & Facilities. Prominent in his experience during this period was involvement with the Midway Airport Terminal Development Project (MATDP). This terminal replacement project, at a time of accelerated growth for ATA, generated multiple roles and projects. Mr. Hamic served as ATA’s technical representative through the full course of the MATDP, serving on multiple airline committees. Additionally, he managed: the airline’s tenant improvement effort; the renovation of a 1948-vinatge hangar; the development of a reservations center; the establishment of a remote eleven aircraft hardstand operation; and numerous growth and marketing driven expansions throughout the ATA system. Mr. Hamic’s aviation career has included employment with both regional and national air carriers (Ozark Airlines, Air Wisconsin, and ATA Airlines). This experience includes fourteen years of corporate real estate and facility responsibilities, as well as roles in the areas of building maintenance, ramp operations, and benefits administration.
