Steve Baun
Manager

Experience

Mr. Baun joined AvAirPros in June 2007 and is assigned to the Atlanta, GA. office. Mr. Baun’s current assignment is as a manager on the Project Management Team (PMT) for the $90M plus fast-tracked ATL BHS Expansion Program at Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Mr. Baun’s responsibilities include: editing and updating the Program Procedures Manual, developing and maintaining all logs associated with this project including the shop drawing, product data, samples and other submittals, tenant alteration application, change order, and action item logs. Mr. Baun also plays an essential role in technical support where he assists in coordinating the phasing of the baggage handling system expansion and the construction of airline operational and support space associated with this project. Mr. Baun supports the PMT in maintaining quality control by performing site inspection visits to track progress, as well as ensure that construction is compliant with plans and specifications, and adheres to Delta Air Lines corporate standards.

Prior to his current assignment, Mr. Baun’s recent experience includes:

Southwest Gate Enhancement Program: Mr. Baun assisted in the roll-out of Southwest Airlines’ Gate Enhancement Project. His responsibilities included coordination between the contractor and station management, specifically the installation of the new boarding system for Southwest Airlines at Louisville International Airport and Nashville International Airport. He was responsible for installation of the new boarding elements at all ten of Southwest’s passenger holdrooms.

Top 100 Airports: Mr. Baun was responsible for updating the AvAirPros Top 100 Airports study by contacting Airport officials and Airline representatives, reviewing Airport official statements and coordinating information with AvAirPros staff around the country. The Top 100 Airports document served as a support document to the “Airport Capital Development and the System Wide Impact to the Airline Industry” presentation, which AvAirPros presented at the Air Transport Association All Hands Meeting in September 2007. The purpose of this document is to assist the managers of Airline Corporate Real Estate Departments to better understand the future impacts of Airport Master Plans on the Airline industry. The document included a five-year forecast of capital spending anticipated at each of the U. S. hub airports and a narrative summary of the scope of major improvements that are proposed to be implemented as part of each hub Airport’s Capital Development Plan.
