Experience
Mr. Plomann joined the staff of AvAirPros Services, Inc. in May 2006 as a Duty Operations Manager where he was responsible for the operation and maintenance of all airline equipment and support systems for the Midway Airlines’ Terminal Consortium (MATCO). In April 2008, Mr. Plomann was promoted to IEDS Operations Manager to oversee the new $42.5M Inline Explosive Detection System at Midway International Airport. In this role, Mr. Plomann was responsible for commissioning of the system, warranty fulfillment, initial parts and equipment procurement, scheduling, developing operating, maintenance and contingency procedures, and working with OEM engineers to improve system performance and reliability. In November 2008, Mr. Plomann was promoted to Director of Operations. He is currently responsible for overseeing all aspects of the consortium operation.
Mr. Plomann’s airline equipment experience includes management of an Inline Explosive Detection Baggage Handling System, Passenger Loading Bridges, potable water equipment, ground power equipment, triturator equipment, Flight Information Display System, electric tug charging equipment, Pre-Conditioned Air Systems, a Computerized Maintenance Management System, and the international terminal facility at Midway International Airport. He is also responsible for a maintenance staff of 30 and various other services to include, a bulk fuel hydrant system, passenger wheelchair services, oversize baggage services, and ticket verification services.
Prior to joining AvAirPros, Mr. Plomann served nine years in the U.S. Air Force as a C-5, C-17, and C-141 aviation maintenance specialist. He managed aircraft assets in excess of $200 million. During this time he also supervised maintenance operations on numerous types of fighter, transport, helicopter, and distinguished visitor aircraft in the U.S. Air Force inventory. Following his honorable discharge, Mr. Plomann worked as a Field Service Technician repairing lasers for Cincinnati Inc. His duties included installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting high-powered CO2 lasers.
Mr. Plomann graduated Summa Cum Laude from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in 2003 and is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree from the same institution.
