Experience

Mr. Swanson joined the staff of AvAirPros in 1996. His aviation experience is in terminal area planning, design and developing phased implementation programs to accommodate airport growth.

Representative projects that Mr. Swanson has been involved with since joining AvAirPros include the following:

At Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), Mr. Swanson represents the International Airlines for the Tom Bradley International Terminal (TBIT) Refurbishment Program. He is coordinating over 30 International Airlines’ ability to maintain their operations while the $450 million program to upgrade this aging facility is implemented.

At Sacramento International Airport, (SMF), Mr. Swanson is a member of the Peer Advisory Team (PAT), reporting directly to the Airport Director to provide Airline input on the design and implementation of their Airport Development Program.

At San Jose International Airport (SJC), Mr. Swanson has been retained to represent the Airlines in the development of the Airport’s proposed Master Plan program.

At Oakland International Airport (OAK), Mr. Swanson is in charge of the Airline Liaison Office, which has been established at the request of both the Port of Oakland and the Airlines serving OAK. In this capacity he is developing, coordinating and facilitating for the Airlines all aspects of the technical and financial input in the implementation of the Airport Development Program.

At San Francisco International Airport, Mr. Swanson has assisted with many different responsibilities of the Airline Liaison Office.

Prior to joining AvAirPros, projects which have involved Mr. Swanson’s expertise are the 2010 Implementation Plan at Southwest Florida International Airport, Ft. Myers, Florida; and developing the space planning and programming for all of United Airlines' facilities at the new Denver Airport.

Mr. Swanson’s unique perspective is based on the experience of working in two major carriers’ properties and facilities departments, combined with his experience as an architectural/planning consultant to both airline and airport clients. This has allowed Mr. Swanson to provide services to the aviation industry responding to a wide range of issues.
