Mr. McDevitt joined AvAirPros in 1997 and he has been primarily involved in assignments at Denver International Airport, JFK Terminal One, and Philadelphia International Airport.Mr. McDevitt’s Philadelphia role is to monitor, manage, and promote the interests of the International Airlines in airport affairs. He chairs the monthly Terminals A meetings and the quarterly CUTE users meetings, serves on the PAAAC, and participates in ad hoc committees, consultations, and conferences with the Division of Aviation. Mr. McDevitt participates in all financial matters that impact the International Airlines. He was active in the planning and design meetings for International Terminals A East and A West. He negotiated a Memorandum of Understanding for the International Airlines’ use of the international facilities and recently participated in the negotiations for a new four year Use and Lease Agreement. Mr. McDevitt works closely with the local Transportation Security Administration managers on security matters impacting the International Airlines and its passengers.
At JFK, Mr. McDevitt assisted the Terminal One management team on behalf of the Terminal One Group Association in improving the terminal’s operating and financial efficiency. With his extensive operating experience, he introduced programs and procedures that enhanced operational performance while reducing unit costs.
From October 1997 to January 1999 Mr. McDevitt headed the Airline Liaison Office at Denver International Airport. He worked to increase the economic efficiency of the Airport, resolve joint Airline/Airport business issues, and to support the DIA Airport Airline Affairs Committee.
Before joining AvAirPros Mr. McDevitt was an independent management consultant focusing primarily in the areas of airport/airline operating agreements, facilities planning, financial analysis, forecasting, negotiations, and liaison services.
Prior to his consulting activities, Mr. McDevitt was Vice President-Operations for ARA Ground Services, Inc. He was responsible for the financial and operating performance of up to twenty-one airport operating units. He was directly responsible for the development and implementation of strategic plans, financial forecasts, operating budgets, ground handling agreements, labor agreements, and new business development.
