Concessions Master Planning and Implementation
San Francisco International Airport
New International Terminal Building

AvAirPros has been the lead concession consultant to the City and County of San Francisco since its new International Terminal Building began construction in 1996.

AvAirPros prepared project feasibility studies, developed and analyzed forecasts for current and future program space requirements, and prepared and analyzed proforma financial models used throughout development. AvAirPros assisted Airport Staff with coordination, solicitation and selection of food and beverage, retail merchandise and duty free concessionaires that will be operating from the new 24-gate facility. Other services include supporting Airport Staff with construction coordination of concession spaces, design and coordination of base building utility infrastructure and preparation of contractual and proposal documents now being used in all Airport lease transactions.

In an effort to assist Airline operators and Airport Staff, AvAirPros recently focused its efforts on developing new, alternative sources of non-airline revenue to improve this vital aspect of Airport operations. With the assistance and support of Airport Staff, AvAirPros developed the first airport-wide loading bridge advertising program in North America. The program was designed as a partnership between Airline Operators that own or otherwise control their loading bridges under lease and use agreements, the City and County of San Francisco, the Airport and an experienced national advertising company hired to implement the Program. AvAirPros produced the documentation used to secure the advertising vendor and is coordinating the execution of all documents between the Airlines and advertising vendor.

Another program currently under development is also designed to produce new, incremental revenue. This new program involves the conversion of former smoking lounges located in highly desirable concourse locations into interactive promotion and display spaces designed to expose passengers to new high technology products, services and companies. The display spaces will provide an interactive experience for passengers prior to departure and also to provide incremental revenue to the Airport.
