Since October, 1991 AvAirPros Services, Inc. (APS) has managed San Francisco Foreign Flag Carriers Corporation (SFFFC), the airline consortium in the International Terminal comprised of 21 airlines which encompasses airline owned equipment such as baggage systems, passenger loading bridges, 400hz ground power, furniture, FIDS, public address system, CCTV, aircraft guidance systems, potable water and common use terminal equipment.In 1998, San Francisco Terminal Equipment Co (SFOTEC) was established as the entity for the airline consortium for the New International Terminal Building. APS has been contracted and has been actively involved in the establishment, planning, training, coordination and contractual development with airlines, airport and outside service entities. The airport will lease to SFOTEC to manage and maintain all airline related equipment and services including baggage handling systems, makeup and claim devices, passenger loading bridges (40 at 26 gates), 400hz ground power, potable water, Common Use Terminal Equipment (CUTE), MUFIDS, Gate Management System, Ramp Control towers (2), and x-ray machines incorporated with checking baggage handling system. SFOTEC will also manage airlines purchased security equipment at the two (2) pre-board security checkpoints.
