The Rhode Island Airport Corporation (RIAC) was created in July 1993 to operate and maintain the airport system in the State of Rhode Island. RIAC substantially completed its $168.9 million Terminal Improvement Program at T.F. Green Airport in September 1996. The program included a new passenger terminal facility, new and expanded roadway system, expanded parking facilities, as well as taxiway and aircraft parking apron improvements. The multi-phased program included construction of interim facilities to maintain existing operations and allowed for the demolition of the existing terminal, concourse, and apron areas.

AvAirPros was retained by RIAC to provide assistance in refining a Final Phasing plan for the terminal project and assistance in the physical relocation of its tenants from the existing terminal to the interim facilities. These tenants included the Airlines, concessionaires, rental car agencies, and airport administrative staff.

AvAirPros became an integral part of the Project Team addressing critical schedule, cost, and implementation issues related to the new terminal program. This assistance included serving as the primary interface between RIAC and the airlines on facility development issues, resolution of contract administration issues, development of facility design alternatives, coordination of concession program requirements, identification of communication systems, equipment requirements, and definition of common use facilities/equipment requirements.

As a result of unprecedented growth at T. F. Green, AvAirPros also provided technical support related to a four-gate expansion of the concourse, concession expansion, and Federal Inspection Services (FIS) facility. AvAirPros continues to provide on-call services related to airline issues and ongoing CIP projects.

AvAirPros proved to be an invaluable player in the Terminal Improvement Program providing an airline perspective to design and construction issues, coordinating multiple tenant groups, and ultimately reducing capital and operational costs while maximizing operational flexibility.
